NBI SUMMONS FOUR PERSONS IN PROBE INTO DELA ROSA’S DISAPPEARANCE

The National Bureau of Investigation has issued subpoenas to four individuals, including suspended Senate sergeant-at-arms Mao Aplasca and Pasay police chief Joselito de Sesto, as part of its investigation into the disappearance of Senator Ronald dela Rosa.

Authorities have been searching for Dela Rosa since he reportedly left the Senate premises on May 14 following the issuance of an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court.

NBI Director Melvin Matibag said the subpoenas are intended to gather information and clarify the circumstances surrounding the senator’s alleged escape, including a shooting incident at the Senate that some critics claim may have aided his departure.

Investigators are also examining reported communications involving Dela Rosa’s wife and Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano to determine possible motives behind the incident.

Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police said it is prepared to cooperate fully with any inquiry and defend the findings of its investigation into the May 13 Senate shooting.
