A complaint has been filed before the Office of the Ombudsman against Caloocan 3rd District Rep. Dean Asistio over alleged P79.2-million ghost and overpriced flood control and infrastructure projects.
The case, filed by former Caloocan Mayor Rey Malonzo, includes graft, malversation, and falsification charges involving DPWH officials and private contractors.
Malonzo alleged that several projects either do not exist, are misrepresented, or are grossly overpriced, including flood control works and a covered court rehabilitation.
Asistio denied the allegations, calling them politically motivated and insisting that all projects in his district went through proper processes and implementation.
He also said he has yet to receive an official copy of the complaint and maintained that there are no ghost projects in his district.
