President Marcos inspected the reconstruction of San Francisco High School in Quezon City, where a fire last year destroyed a building, and visited the first YAKAP medical caravan of 2026 held on campus.
The new four-story school building will expand capacity from 12 to 36 classrooms, with completion targeted by June, and Marcos requested the SM Group to add 24 more classrooms to ease congestion.
The YAKAP program, a joint initiative of DepEd and PhilHealth, provided on-site registration for students, parents, and teachers, along with free medical services including vision screening, lab tests, and medicines.
Marcos praised the cooperative effort between the national and Quezon City governments, noting the program’s positive impact on student health and education.
San Francisco High School currently serves 6,846 students with 211 classrooms, supported by 325 teaching and non-teaching personnel.
