President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the Philippines and Russia have significant room to expand trade and economic cooperation during his bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kazan.
Marcos said current trade relations are stable but noted there are still many untapped opportunities for business and investment.
Putin expressed optimism about expanding cooperation, particularly in agriculture and energy, as the two countries celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations this year.
Marcos also highlighted recent business engagements that opened opportunities for joint ventures between Philippine and Russian firms.
He likewise expressed hopes for continued political consultations with Russia and invited Putin to attend the 21st East Asia Summit in Manila this November.
