The Malolos local government has begun distributing P3,000 fuel cash assistance to tricycle drivers amid the ongoing fuel crisis.
On April 1, 1,776 drivers from 19 Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODA) received the first batch of aid, according to Mayor Christian Natividad.
The program will continue until around 11,000 transport workers, including TNVS and motorized banca drivers, benefit from the city’s P33-million subsidy.
The fuel aid comes ahead of the national government’s April 10 Cash Relief Assistance for transport workers outside Metro Manila.
Mayor Natividad emphasized that the support is part of special emergency funds previously used to assist OFW families affected by Middle East conflicts.
