The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has capped booking fees for app-based taxi services at 20 percent of the approved fare or a maximum of P60, whichever is lower.
The agency said the fee must be clearly reflected in the fare computation, booking confirmation, and electronic receipt.
The new policy also prohibits unauthorized or hidden charges, duplicate fees, and arbitrary booking surcharges.
Taxi operators are required to keep records of all booking-related charges for audit purposes.
Violators may face fines, suspension, franchise cancellation, or other administrative penalties.
