NLEX ANNOUNCES TOLL REBATE FOR FLOOD-AFFECTED BULACAN-PAMPANGA ROAD

NLEX Corp. will grant toll rebates to motorists using the flooded Pulilan, Bulacan-San Fernando, Pampanga stretch starting Wednesday, Sept. 2, until all lanes are passable to all vehicle classes.

The rebate covers both northbound and southbound sections, with the amount credited directly to motorists’ RFID accounts the day after their toll passage.

The company attributed the flooding to elevated Pampanga River water levels caused by persistent rains and deployed emergency, traffic management, and customer service teams to assist affected motorists.

NLEX parent firm Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. is considering raising the road pavement in Tulaoc, San Simon, Pampanga, as a long-term solution to flooding.

Meanwhile, the Department of Transportation ordered NLEX to improve its warning system and provide motorists with early advisories and rerouting options before expected rainfall and road closures.
