President Marcos has ordered the release of an additional P8.68 billion to the Department of Education (DepEd) to support the career advancement and higher pay of public school personnel under the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) System.
The funding will cover more than 93,344 education personnel nationwide.
The ECP allows teachers to advance professionally and receive higher salaries without leaving the classroom.
The Department of Budget and Management will process the funds for distribution to DepEd regional offices to speed up implementation.
For 2027, the government has proposed P12.9 billion for the continued implementation of the ECP.
