The House prosecution team has received bank documents and tax records of Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband, Manases Carpio, as it prepares to present allegations of unexplained wealth in her impeachment trial.
Prosecutor Terry Ridon said the team will scrutinize the records, which are expected to form a key part of its evidence under Article II.
The panel is also deciding whether to skip the bribery and procurement-related allegations under Article III and proceed directly to the unexplained wealth charge.
Meanwhile, House trial spokesman Robert Ace Barbers said special disbursing officers and security personnel who handled confidential funds could be held accountable for questionable transactions.
Commission on Audit Commissioner Mario Lipana Mallillin said officials are also reviewing rules on confidential funds, including documentation requirements and the use of aliases.
