Senator Loren Legarda on Friday urged Filipinos to honor Dr. Jose Rizal’s legacy by living with purpose and ensuring that justice and truth remain non-negotiable as the nation marked his 165th birth anniversary.
She said Rizal’s ideals of freedom, education, patriotism, and civic responsibility continue to serve as a guide for the country amid modern challenges.
Legarda emphasized that Rizal’s courage lay in his commitment to truth and conscience, calling on Filipinos to uphold these values in public life.
She also highlighted the national hero’s advocacy for culture, environmental stewardship, and education as pillars of nation-building.
The senator encouraged especially the youth to embody Rizal’s legacy by choosing integrity, courage, and responsibility over silence and indifference.
