The House of Representatives will hold a necrological service on Monday, Sept. 21, to honor the life and public service of former Quirino lone district Rep. Dakila Carlo “Dax” Cua.
Cua, 48, served in the 15th, 16th, and 17th Congresses and was Quirino governor when he died on Sept. 15, 2026.
The House resolution cited his principal authorship of the Free Internet Access in Public Places Act and the TRAIN Act, as well as his co-authorship of the Philippine Competition Act and other key measures.
Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III will lead House officials in the tribute, with former Speakers Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Feliciano Belmonte Jr., and Pantaleon Alvarez expected to deliver eulogies.
Cua also held leadership posts in local government organizations, including the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines, League of Provinces of the Philippines, and United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific.
