Vice President Sara Duterte’s declared business interests and alleged government transactions involving companies linked to her will face closer scrutiny as House prosecutors present corporate and procurement records in her impeachment trial.
Civil Service Commission Assistant Commissioner Ariel Ronquillo, SEC Director Gerardo del Rosario, and PhilGEPS division chief Rendell Sopeña are set to testify when the Senate impeachment court resumes proceedings Monday.
Del Rosario is expected to authenticate SEC records on companies in which Duterte declared interests, while Sopeña will present government procurement records involving Gencorp Industries Inc.
The examination could also include testimony from Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, along with other witnesses on PhilHealth records and firearms registered under the Vice President and her husband.
The trial schedule could change on Sept. 23, when the Senate is set to hear oral arguments on the disputed 16-vote threshold required to convict Duterte.
