HEALTH CHIEF SAYS HOTEL VISIT WAS WORK-RELATED, DENIES GAMBLING

Health Secretary Jose “Brix” Pujalte Jr. denied allegations that he engaged in gambling, saying his visit to a hotel on July 20 was for an official meeting with officials from Masbate and Sorsogon.

The denial came after an anonymous complaint filed before the Presidential Complaint Center accused him of frequenting casinos and using aliases.

The Department of Health said the meeting focused solely on assistance for public hospitals in the region.

The complaint cited laws and regulations prohibiting government officials from gambling and using fictitious names.

The DOH reiterated its commitment to delivering quality health services while rejecting the allegations.
