More than 500,000 government workers and pensioners have received loan amortization refunds under the Government Service Insurance System Balik Ginhawa program, with a total of about P7.3 billion credited as of April 20.
GSIS President and General Manager Jose Arnulfo Veloso said the initiative supports government efforts to ease the impact of rising living costs.
The program received over 598,000 applications, with more than 525,000 found eligible for payout.
Refunds are being processed and credited through partner banks, with remaining balances expected to be released within a few working days.
The program covers up to three months of loan amortizations, is interest-free, and remains open for applications via the GSIS Touch app until October 31, 2026.
