Youth and student groups marched to the EDSA Shrine to demand an end to corruption and political dynasties ahead of the 54th anniversary of martial law.
The protesters called for accountability, recovery of stolen public funds, and charges against those involved in alleged corruption.
They also urged Congress to pass an anti-political dynasty law, citing a recent Supreme Court ruling on the issue.
Authorities said the rallies remained peaceful, with around 2,000 police personnel deployed in Metro Manila.
The NCRPO said it will maintain a strong police presence during today’s demonstrations to prevent violence.
