FILIPINOS SEEK JOBS, STRONGER ANTI-CORRUPTION EFFORTS BEFORE MARCOS’ 5TH SONA — SURVEY

A Pulse Asia survey commissioned by the Stratbase Group found that affordable food remains Filipinos’ top concern ahead of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA). However, demand for job creation and stronger anti-corruption efforts has grown.

The survey showed 28% of respondents want the government to prioritize jobs and the same percentage called for tougher action against corruption.

More Filipinos also cited better education and healthcare as key government priorities.

Stratbase Group President Victor Andres “Dindo” Manhit said the public expects not only lower prices but also more employment opportunities and transparent governance.

The survey was conducted among 2,400 respondents from June 28 to July 6.
