Alicia Mayor Ardin Musa has ordered an investigation into suspected illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGOs) following the arrest of 244 foreign nationals in raids in Zamboanga Sibugay.
The joint operations by the Bureau of Immigration, National Bureau of Investigation, and military forces targeted facilities in Alicia and Siay.
Of those arrested, 51 individuals, mostly among the foreign nationals involved, were flown to Manila as potential victims of human trafficking.
Musa directed local police, barangay officials, and the Business Permits and Licensing Office to investigate businesses linked to the alleged illegal activities.
He vowed to stop any confirmed illegal operations and hold those responsible accountable, urging residents to report suspicious activities to authorities.
