Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said the Department of Transportation (DOTr) will push for funding for the EDSA busway and other key programs in the 2027 national budget.
Lopez said the agency will defend its proposed allocations during Congress’ budget hearings.
He noted that several DOTr programs received no funding under the 2027 National Expenditure Program.
These include the Public Transport Modernization Program, service contracting, and active transport projects.
Lopez said the DOTr will continue to seek congressional support for these programs.
