The Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed it has not received or reviewed any affidavit from former DPWH Bulacan engineer Henry Alcantara recanting his previous statements on the flood control anomalies.
DOJ spokesman Polo Martinez clarified on Saturday that there has been no official retraction from Alcantara, whether written or verbal.
Alcantara had admitted his involvement in the flood control corruption scandal, including signing a project completion certificate without personally inspecting the site.
He recently surrendered a total of P181.3 million in kickbacks, part of the P300 million he pledged to return under the Witness Protection Program.
Reports that Alcantara had filed a counter-affidavit denying his involvement remain unverified by the DOJ.
