The Department of Agriculture (DA) is exploring a partnership with DALI Everyday Grocery to create a direct market for local farmers and cooperatives.
Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel said DALI’s network of more than 1,400 stores could provide farmers with a stable market and potentially support contract-growing arrangements.
DALI is seeking farmer groups and cooperatives that can supply highland and lowland vegetables while considering warehouses near Benguet and Pangasinan.
The DA said the partnership could expand market opportunities for vegetable farmers and help reduce cases of vegetable dumping.
DALI currently aims to reach 1,600 stores by the end of the year and as many as 16,000 stores by 2035.
