The US Embassy in the Philippines highlighted the strong partnership between the two countries after sharing a NASA photograph of the Philippine archipelago taken by astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) in 2010.
The image, captured during ISS Expedition 23 from about 250 miles above Luzon, went viral on social media.
In its Oct. 8 post, the embassy described the photograph as a “jaw-dropping view from orbit” and emphasized that cooperation between the US and the Philippines allows both countries to “reach for the stars together.
The embassy also cited its partnership with the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) in advancing space-related initiatives.
PhilSA welcomed the post on Oct. 9, praising the photograph and thanking the US Embassy and NASA for sharing it.
