The Commission on Higher Education is targeting at least 394,000 senior high school graduates to enroll in colleges and universities for the academic year 2026-2027, according to CHED chairperson Shirley Agrupis.
Agrupis encouraged SHS graduates to take college entrance examinations and apply for government scholarship programs to help support their studies.
She also advised students to coordinate with their local Department of Social Welfare and Development offices to verify their eligibility for assistance programs.
Agrupis highlighted the Presidential Merit Scholarship Program as the administration’s flagship scholarship initiative for top-performing SHS graduates entering priority fields identified by EDCOM2.
CHED said at least 20,000 scholarship slots will be available for the first semester of AY 2026-2027.
