Senator Bong Go co-sponsored the Philippine Geriatric Center (PGC) Bill, aiming to establish a dedicated tertiary hospital for senior citizens under the Department of Health.
He highlighted that caring for the elderly is deeply rooted in Filipino culture and stressed the need for comprehensive healthcare services for older adults.
Go cited the growing senior population, projected to exceed 14 million by 2030, noting that many face chronic illnesses, cognitive decline, and require long-term care.
The senator’s support builds on his previous advocacy for seniors, including legislation increasing social pensions and granting cash gifts to the elderly.
Go reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the specialized health needs of aging Filipinos through dedicated services and facilities.
