BAMBBI FUENTES TACKLES MENTAL HEALTH AND FAMILY WOUNDS IN ‘MANTSA’

Celebrity makeup artist and talent manager Bambbi Fuentes is making her film debut as a producer with “Mantsa,” a psychological thriller and family drama that explores mental health struggles, family wounds, and mistakes passed from one generation to another.

Directed by Louie Ignacio and written by Fuentes and Krista Taclan-Fuchs, the film follows Lola Pacita, an elderly matriarch whose family reunion on a remote island exposes buried secrets and emotional tensions.

Fuentes said the movie aims to leave a lasting impact on audiences by showing realistic situations and the reasons behind characters’ disturbing actions.

The film’s title symbolizes the emotional “stains” left by painful experiences and wrong decisions, with Fuentes emphasizing self-forgiveness as an important step toward healing.

Veteran actress Pilar Pilapil leads the cast, joined by Gelli de Belen, Lloyd Samartino, Dino Guevarra, Khai Flores, Shira Tweg, and other performers, with “Mantsa” set to open in Philippine cinemas on Oct. 7.
