INJURED OFWS IN SAUDI ARABIA RECEIVE VISIT FROM PH OFFICIALS

Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Raymond Balatbat and Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac visited overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who survived the Oct. 10 attacks at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

The officials were joined by Migrant Workers Undersecretary Jainal Rasul Jr. and other labor representatives during the Oct. 27 visit.

The attacks, reportedly carried out by Yemen-based Houthi forces, killed at least 13 people and injured more than 300 others.

Cacdac said the government is not considering a deployment ban to Saudi Arabia, citing the country’s commitment to protecting foreign workers.

The Philippine Embassy urged Filipinos in Saudi Arabia to remain vigilant and avoid military installations, oil refineries, and crowded public areas.
