The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) expanded its regional defense presence as the Philippine Air Force (PAF) and Philippine Navy (PN) carried out joint activities with key Indo-Pacific partners.
From Feb. 2 to 6, the PAF conducted bomber air patrols and live-drop exercises with the U.S. Pacific Air Forces over the West Philippine Sea and Luzon Strait, deploying FA-50PH fighters alongside U.S. B-52 bombers.
The drills focused on airspace coordination, command integration, and joint operational response to strengthen national air defense and international partnerships.
Meanwhile, the PN sent a contingent to India for the International Fleet Review 2026 and MILAN 2026 multilateral naval exercises, with BRP Miguel Malvar representing the country.
AFP officials said these activities enhance interoperability, reinforce regional security, and demonstrate the Philippines’ commitment to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific.
