Senatorial candidate Camille Villar visited public markets in Silay and Talisay, Negros Occidental, on Friday, where she listened to the concerns of local vendors.
As part of her campaign for the May 12 elections, Villar expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome from the communities, highlighting the local delicacies like suman and bitso-bitso.
She emphasized her focus on creating jobs and supporting the agricultural industry if elected, to improve the quality of life for Filipinos.
During the visit, vendors raised concerns about the high prices of basic goods like rice, fish, and vegetables.
Villar pledged to support initiatives aimed at bridging the gap between farmers and traders to reduce commodity prices, particularly rice.
