The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board held a compliance seminar with the producers of Sigabo after receiving more than 10 complaints over its violent content.
The complaints cited frequent depictions of fistfights, physical aggression, torture, and strong violent language following the show’s June 22 premiere.
Representatives of CCM Film Productions, co-producer of the series starring and directed by Coco Martin, attended the dialogue and pledged to ensure future episodes comply with MTRCB guidelines.
The agency said the seminar was conducted under its “Responsableng Paggabay” initiative to promote responsible content production.
“Sigabo” currently carries a Strong Parental Guidance (SPG) rating due to its mature themes and violent content.
