Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson urged President Marcos to maintain momentum in the fight against corruption, especially following the 2025 flood control scandal.
Lacson expressed concern over public perception, noting declining trust and approval ratings despite Marcos’ strong SONA remarks against corrupt officials.
He called for a more intensified anti-corruption campaign in 2026, vowing to continue his scrutiny of the national budget and expose misuse of public funds.
Lacson highlighted the Blue Ribbon committee’s probe into alleged kickbacks from substandard flood control projects, which enriched contractors, DPWH officials, and lawmakers.
He said he looks forward to working with like-minded officials to inform the public and address further corruption issues in the coming year.
