President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced that the Philippines will open new embassies in Kazakhstan and Ghana this year, along with a Consulate General in Miami, Florida, to improve services for overseas Filipinos and strengthen diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties.
The President said the expansion supports the country’s commitment to deeper international partnerships, regional cooperation through ASEAN, and a rules-based global order.
Marcos also reaffirmed the Philippines’ dedication to multilateralism, maritime cooperation, and peaceful dispute resolution while preparing to host key ASEAN and regional diplomatic events.
During the Independence Day diplomatic reception, Apostolic Nuncio Charles Brown praised the Philippines’ commitment to diplomacy and expressed condolences for the victims of the recent Mindanao earthquake.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Consulate General in Seattle officially opened, extending consular services to Filipinos across Washington, Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.
