A three-day Serbisyo Caravan by government agencies reached the remote barangay of Dalagsa-an in Libacao, Aklan, providing essential services to residents for the first time.
The Philippine Army’s 82nd Infantry Battalion led the effort, delivering P2 to P3 million worth of aid, including P600,000 for an integrated organic farming project.
Nearly 200 beneficiaries received free medical check-ups, circumcisions, National ID registrations, and other services supported by Starlink internet for remote doctor consultations.
The caravan overcame challenging terrain, including river crossings and long treks, with the help of hired porters to transport equipment.
Local officials expressed gratitude, and the event was described by military leaders as a vital effort to ensure isolated communities are “remote, but not forgotten.”
