Malacañang denied rumors on Thursday that First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos was detained by law enforcement during her recent visit to Los Angeles.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro clarified that there was no truth to the claims and confirmed that Araneta-Marcos arrived in Manila on Monday morning.
The rumors, which circulated on Facebook, suggested her detention was related to the death of Juan Paolo Tantoco, who passed away on March 9 in the US.
Araneta-Marcos was in California from March 5 to 8 for the Manila International Film Festival.
She later returned to the Philippines, where she participated in a donation event for the Girl Scouts of the Philippines on March 11.
