Quezon City has inaugurated the Tandang Sora Women’s Museum, the Philippines’ first museum dedicated to honoring the contributions of women throughout history.
The museum, located next to the Tandang Sora National Shrine, commemorates Melchora Aquino, the “Mother of the Philippine Revolution,” and her pivotal role in nation-building.
Mayor Joy Belmonte highlighted the museum’s importance in empowering women and preserving their legacy, while Senator Risa Hontiveros emphasized its role in advancing gender equality.
The museum features interactive exhibits and a focus on the nation’s feminist movements, with special attention to accessibility and inclusivity.
Admission is free for Quezon City residents year-round, and for all visitors during National Arts Month and Women’s Month.
