Filipina endurance athlete Leyann Ramo reclaimed her dominance in Philippine endurance racing after winning the Century Tuna IRONMAN Philippines, completing the punishing race in 12 hours, 3 minutes, and 45 seconds.
The 33-year-old from Lanao del Norte overcame a 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride, and 42.2km marathon, outlasting top competitors including Khimberly Paquibot and Jennifer Tan Uy.
Ramo said the experience pushed the limits of human endurance, describing the race as “overwhelming” and remarkable.
In the men’s division, Bulgaria’s Maksim Kniazev secured the title in 9:04:50, ahead of Germany’s Christian Haupt and Australia’s Ryan Miller.
The victory marks Ramo’s return to the top after previously ruling the IRONMAN 70.3 circuit.
