The House of Representatives is expected to vote on the impeachment articles against Vice President Sara Duterte on May 11 after members are given time to review the documents. Justice Committee chair Gerville Luistro said all 318 lawmakers will receive copies of the report, resolution, and evidence, with at least five days allotted to ensure due process. The committee previously approved the consolidated articles of impeachment with a 55-0 vote, citing probable cause from two complaints. Lawmakers emphasized that the process allows both thorough evaluation of evidence and an opportunity for the Vice President to respond, which could still lead to dismissal before a Senate trial. Officials also expressed confidence that the required votes will be reached, noting that Duterte’s refusal to address the allegations during hearings may strengthen the case.
