The Apostolic Vicariate of Calapan will lead “EDSA 40: Lakbayan Laban sa Katiwalian” on Feb. 25, a prayer-protest linking the 1986 People Power Revolution to current calls for government accountability and transparency. The full-day event will feature a protest march, a forum on good citizenship, the launch of the TAPAT initiative against corruption, a Holy Eucharist presided over by Bishop Moises Cuevas, sacrificial fasting, a motorcade inspection of local flood control projects, and a youth program highlighting social issues. Organizers aim to revive the spirit of EDSA while highlighting alleged public fund mismanagement and encouraging civic vigilance. Thousands of students, church workers, and residents from Oriental Mindoro are expected to participate. Promotional messages emphasize stopping corruption and punishing public officials who misuse government resources.
