The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and its three major branches—the Army, Navy, and Air Force—urged calm, responsible protests, and respect for constitutional processes as Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) began its three-day anti-corruption rally in Manila.
AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. emphasized the military’s non-partisan role, reaffirming that the AFP will not engage in actions that violate the Constitution.
The Army, Navy, and Air Force echoed this stance, stressing professionalism, public safety, and support for law enforcement while protecting democratic rights.
Leaders also warned the public to remain vigilant against outside elements seeking to exploit the gatherings and urged organizers to ensure participants’ safety.
The PAF highlighted its continued focus on humanitarian and disaster response operations, rejecting calls for military intervention in political matters.
