A fire in a shantytown in Addition Hills, Mandaluyong, left 900 families, or about 4,500 people, homeless and injured seven others yesterday.
The blaze, which started at 11:24 a.m. and was controlled by 2:30 p.m., displaced residents who are now staying in an evacuation center receiving relief from the local government.
Injuries included a 19-year-old man with a head wound and a 60-year-old woman who collapsed, while details on other victims remain unclear.
Meanwhile, a separate fire hit a warehouse in Pasig, causing no casualties but damaging goods and affecting workers.
Authorities are still investigating the causes of both fires.
