US AND IRAN WARN OF WAR AS CEASEFIRE NEARS END

The United States and Iran warned of renewed conflict as a fragile ceasefire neared its expiration, amid uncertainty over planned talks in Pakistan on ending the wider Middle East war.

Both sides traded accusations of truce violations, with Washington claiming Iranian harassment in the Strait of Hormuz while Tehran accused the US of blockades and hostile actions.

US officials, including Vice President JD Vance, signaled readiness to continue negotiations, while President Donald Trump warned that failure to reach a deal could lead to renewed military action.

Iran, meanwhile, said it would not negotiate under threats and claimed it was preparing “on the battlefield” if hostilities resume.

Despite diplomatic efforts, tensions remain high as global markets react cautiously to uncertainty over the Strait of Hormuz and the fate of the ceasefire.
