The South Korean Embassy has urged the Philippine government to enhance protection for Korean nationals following reports of violent crimes targeting them.
Embassy officials and the United Korean Community Association met with the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) to discuss measures for improving safety.
Deputy Chief Mission Sang Seung-man called for stronger enforcement, international police cooperation, and better intelligence sharing to protect Korean residents and visitors.
PAOCC, led by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to tackling these crimes and plans to upgrade the “Tourist Security Desk” for increased police presence.
Key areas such as Angeles City, Manila, and Cebu will receive closer monitoring to ensure the safety of Korean nationals.
