Police confiscated unregistered “slimming coffee” worth P300,000 during a raid at a warehouse in Binondo, Manila, and arrested four suspects involved in selling the product.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) reported that the coffee lacked the necessary FDA certification, violating Republic Act 9711.
Authorities seized 20 master boxes of the unregistered slimming coffee in last Friday’s operation.
The suspects were identified only by their first names: Janice, Joey, Camille, and Meldy.
The CIDG continues to investigate the case as part of efforts to curb the sale of illegal health products.
