House leaders expressed confidence that the Supreme Court will not find any irregularities in the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA) after it requested a copy of the enrolled bill for review.
The high court made the request ahead of a preliminary conference set for February 28, with oral arguments scheduled for April 1.
House Assistant Majority Leaders Jude Acidre and Jil Bongalon assured that the GAA process was conducted properly, despite claims of irregularities and allegations that the budget was like a “blank check.”
They clarified that those questioning the budget must formally request a copy, dismissing the complaints of petitioners led by allies of former President Duterte.
In a separate issue, House leaders rejected calls to suspend Speaker Martin Romualdez over allegations of falsification, labeling it an attempt to divert attention from the ongoing impeachment process against the Vice President.
