A proposed Senate bill seeks to grant a one-time P5,000 cash assistance to fresh college graduates to help cover job-hunting expenses. Filed by Senator JV Ejercito, the measure aims to support graduates transitioning into the workforce by easing costs such as transportation, document preparation, and work attire. The bill comes amid rising unemployment among degree holders, with data showing a 2.6% increase in unemployed graduates in 2025. It also complements the existing First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act by providing direct financial aid instead of just fee waivers. If approved, eligible graduates must present proof of completion to avail of the benefit.
