RIDON URGES MARCOS TO MAKE UPPER MIDDLE-INCOME GAINS FELT BY FILIPINOS

Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Terry Ridon urged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure the country’s new upper middle-income status translates into tangible benefits for ordinary Filipinos.

Ahead of the President’s fifth State of the Nation Address, Ridon called for programs that would increase incomes and improve the lives of working families.

He said the economic milestone would be meaningless if it did not result in better living conditions and higher take-home pay.

Ridon noted that Marcos still has two budget cycles to implement reforms that could become a lasting legacy.

Congress is expected to begin deliberating on the proposed national budget after the SONA.
