The House of Representatives said it is ready to host a simple and focused State of the Nation Address (SONA), with lawmakers asked to wear modest Filipiniana attire instead of formal gowns.
The event coincides with the opening of the second regular session of the 20th Congress.
Lawmakers said they expect President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to focus on governance, national priorities, and key legislative measures in his address.
Vice President Sara Duterte is expected to miss the SONA for the second consecutive year due to an overseas trip.
Some lawmakers also urged the President to prioritize measures addressing labor, wages, and the rising cost of living.
