The Senate impeachment court ordered Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon and private prosecutor Benjamin Tolosa Jr. to explain alleged violations of its sub judice rule.
The show-cause orders were issued by Senate President Francis Escudero on Sept. 16 over their public statements about the pending impeachment case.
Ridon confirmed that he was among those ordered to explain.
The House prosecution team also urged the court to apply the rule to Vice President Sara Duterte over her public remarks about the impeachment court.
Prosecutor Zia Alonto Adiong said the rule should be applied equally to all parties in the proceedings.
