Malacañang said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. supports the Supreme Court’s call for Congress to pass a law banning political dynasties, which remains an administration priority.
The Supreme Court ruled that Congress has a constitutional duty to enact the law after failing to do so for 39 years.
The House has already approved its version, while the Senate version is still pending on second reading.
Retired Supreme Court Justice Antonio Carpio said the high court also provided guidelines on what an anti-dynasty law could contain.
Carpio, however, said he may challenge the House version if it is enacted in its current form.
