Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla urged the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to continue its probe into alleged irregularities in government-funded infrastructure projects in Davao City.
Remulla said he hopes the NBI’s ongoing investigation into the projects will continue.
The NBI is reportedly examining allegations that contractor Genesis 88 secured around P7 billion worth of flood control projects in Davao City from 2018 to 2024.
Of the 51 flood control projects flagged by the NBI, six were reportedly considered potentially nonexistent or “ghost” projects.
Remulla made the statement after the NBI’s review of an affidavit alleging that suitcases containing cash were delivered to Vice President Sara Duterte and members of her family was raised during a radio program.
