The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has activated the Probity Assurance Team (PAT) – Interim to investigate irregularities and ensure accountability among its personnel.
PCG spokesperson Commodore Noemie Cayabyab said the unit, formed on April 21, is tasked to probe misconduct, gather evidence, and pursue both criminal and administrative cases against erring members.
The team is composed of officers from key PCG offices, including intelligence, legal, and internal affairs units, and is part of efforts to strengthen internal discipline.
The move comes after two PCG personnel were recently arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Cebu City and Davao City.
The PCG reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on misconduct, warning that violators will face suspension, dismissal, and other legal penalties.
