Newly installed National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) head Manny Pacquiao is pushing for satellite offices in every region to bring poverty reduction programs closer to communities.
Pacquiao discussed the plan with Finance Secretary Frederick Go during a recent meeting on the agency’s budget needs.
He said fighting poverty goes beyond numbers and must address the daily struggles of Filipino families.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed Pacquiao as NAPC secretary and lead convenor earlier this month, replacing Lope Santos III.
The NAPC coordinates government efforts on social reform and poverty alleviation.
